Technically, I’m a writer and editor, but most of all, I’m an avid beauty blog reader, so I thought it was time that I start my own blog about the two things I’m most obsessed with… eyeshadow and nail polish!

My preoccupation with nail polish started when I got married in 2011. My hands have never received so much attention. Your nails have to look good when people ask to see your hands. My nails have never been bare since! My favourite looks for nails are nudes, neons and I think the ‘half-glitter’ look is my signature!

I’m a bit funny about eyeshadows. I only like nudes or blacks and greys! It’s funny because they’re polar opposites. I’m not into colours, so you won’t see any of those here. Up until now I’ve only used blacks and grey. Stepping out and trying nude eyeshadow looks will be my thing for this year. I love the way a nude eye looks with a cat’s eye or a wing. My favourite eyeshadow look is a smokey black, I don’t care if it’s night or day, I could wear a smokey eye all year round.

And my disclaimer: I’m not a makeup expert by any stretch and I’m definitely not a photographer! I just like to try new things!

Ps. No, I don’t think I’m a ‘bombshell’, the blog is titled this because my name is Shelley!
